Dr. Kartik Kulshrestha

Trained Liver Transplant, Laparoscopic and GastroSurgeon with more than 10 years of experience in the field of surgery.

He did his MBBS and M.S from the prestigious Government Medical College, Trivandrum and worked as faculty for one year thereafter where he got trained in the best Medical College of the state to perform all kinds of Surgical procedures. He then pursued his Super Speciality (DNB) in Surgical Gastroenterology under the Mentorship of Dr.Prakash K in PVS Memorial Hospital Kochi, the stalwart of SGE in India where he learned to diagnose and perform complex laparoscopic, pancreas, liver and intestinal surgeries.  

After successfully completing his Surgical Gastro training, he served as an Assistant Professor at Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SNIMS), Kochi for a short period of time before joining his Fellowship in Liver Transplant and HPB from Fortis Hospital, one of the highest volume transplant centres in India, under Dr.Vivek Vij, one of the most renowned names in Liver Transplant in the country. Subsequently, he worked as a Consultant in Liver Transplant Unit at Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi. 

Apart from the postgraduate degrees, he also has Fellowships in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS, FIAGES) and is a member of Surgical and Minimally Invasive Society of India and has undergone special training in Liver Transplant, Esophageal surgery and Bariatric Surgery.

Since joining Apollo Adlux Hospital in June 2020 and establishing the Department of Surgical Gastro there, he has performed more than 1000 successful Gastro and Laparoscopic surgeries with very good surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction rates.

Dr Kartik is known for his punctuality, meticulous approach towards diagnosis and treatment, work ethic and being true to his patients. He has presented many papers and posters at various National and International conferences and won awards for the same. He is also an invited Faculty as a speaker at various conferences.

His special areas of interest include Liver and Liver Transplant surgeries, Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB), Gastro-Onco Surgeries and Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic) Surgeries.
